The highly competitive Fallon Chess program is returning on Thursdays starting in mid-September.
We had a thrilling tryout tournament yesterday, with more than 220 players competing in the 2024 East Bay Open. All Fallon participants will be sent an invite to this year’s program. If you are a prospective new or returning member and missed the tryout tournament, please fill out this interest form.
As two-time middle-school state champions and 2023 national online champion, Fallon helps members excel as competitive players through engaging lessons by experienced professional coaches, USCF-rated tournaments, and representing themselves and the Fallon team at weekend competitions. At the same time, we teach critical thinking and mental health skills such as resilience and grace in defeat…all while building camaraderie and having fun. Follow our Facebook page to learn more.
Now in its 10th year, Fallon Chess’s returning parent lead is Bhavna Jain. The day-to-day administrator and head coach is co-founder, Eric Lai. Lai also co-leads the Emerald Hills Chess program and helped start and run the chess programs at Dublin HS, Wells Middle School, and elsewhere.
Key Details:
Program Duration: September 19 to May 15 (25 meetings including year-end party)
Class Timing: Every Thursday from 3:30 pm to 5 pm (apart from holidays)
Cost: Full year (Sept. 19-May 15) - $500
Fall-only (10 classes, Sept 19-Dec 12) - $200
Spring-only (15 classes Jan 9-May 15) - $300

Reimbursements are pro-rated up to 100% ($500) for those who can help for all 25 classes. All rebates will be given at the end of the year.
Contact us if interested at [email protected]
Note: If you have another non-Fallon student in the household or a schedule conflicts with Thursday afternoons, consider small group classes from Emerald Hills Chess. Our Wednesday evening fall classes at Fallon are just getting started. We also hold Sunday AM classes in Pleasanton. See all our programs here: https://emeraldhillschess.jumbula.com/
We look forward to nurturing your child's chess talents and fostering their intellectual and personal growth!

Have you ever considered delving into the captivating world of engineering and exploring the exciting fields it has to offer? Are you interested in learning more about the local engineering opportunities or thinking about starting engineering-related clubs in High School?
Here at NextGen Innovators, we aim to provide students with the opportunity to explore the hands-on side of engineering as well as provide insight into our experiences being fourth-year students in the Engineering Academy at Dublin High School. This program will focus on many areas of engineering including civil, mechanical, electrical, and computer science, and will teach students engineering concepts as we build our projects together.
We will share our experiences and things we wish we knew ahead of time so you can prepare while in middle school. We will also talk about our experiences in engineering clubs that are provided at the high school including Dublin Robotics and Dublin Aerospace.
Here are three of our goals!
1. Hands-on learning that allows students to have the opportunity to explore the field of engineering before joining the classes at the high school level
2. Expand students' knowledge on a variety of engineering fields
3. Get students excited to continue engineering into high school
We will be meeting on Fridays from 3:15 PM - 4:30 PM at Fallon. We will be meeting on the following dates:

Do you get tingles when you hear the word “science”? Have you ever considered competing with your peers against other STEM-loving students? If so, Science Bowl is the right competition for you.
The Fallon Science Bowl Club is dedicated to preparing students for the Science Bowl competition by deepening their knowledge of core scientific subjects. These include mathematics, chemistry, physics, earth and space science, energy, and life science. Through weekly practice sessions, collaborative study, and mock competitions, the club builds a strong foundation in these disciplines while fostering teamwork, quick thinking, and strategic problem-solving. The club not only prepares members for the Science Bowl but also equips them to excel in broader academic and competitive challenges. We will prepare one or two teams to compete in regional Science Bowl tournaments. Our primary goal is to enhance students’ interest and collaboration in STEM subjects.
We are planning to establish teams for 2024-2025. The cost to join is $10. The final team for the regional competition will be comprised of four students and one alternate. We will prepare one or two teams representing Fallon Middle School. Team members of the regional competition may need to pay for the registration fee (if there is any). The class will be held for a span of 5 months (October to March) before the Regional Science Bowl Competition (no class on holidays). We will accept up to 20 students this year. Depending on the number of responses, a written test and/or an interview may be conducted. Please apply at the link here by Sep 15, 2024, 20:00 pm, if you are interested in joining us.

In its second year, the Young Scientists and Engineers Program is a program designed to pioneer research skills in students aspiring to perform projects in STEM-related areas to submit to the yearly Alameda County Science & Engineering Fair in March!
Do you love building robots? Do you love chemistry? This program is just the perfect fit for you! This program is a great method to familiarize yourself with research and is a stepping stone for those who want to involve themselves in the Biomedical or Engineering Academies in Dublin High School and Emerald High School in the near future. Along with creating a full-fledged project, including learning how to collect your own data, experimentation, and preparing for the fair itself, students will also tackle on constructing their very own research papers from their projects which they can submit to worldwide student journals for everyone to see! Each week, we meet and learn about the various elements of what it takes to craft a strong and successful research project and offer all types of assistance to make sure you're on the right path when it comes eventually to the day of the fair. A Google Classroom is provided as well where assignments and resources along with other helpful materials are posted to offer as much guidance as possible for students to both enjoy and create projects as they tackle the fun, but constant commitment on the research journey.
The program meets weekly on Fridays at 3:45pm held virtually via Zoom by junior student Vihaan Dey, who is part of the Dublin High Biomedical Academy and has ran the program last year as well, where students created amazing projects on cybersecurity, coding models, analyzing chemicals on foods, and much more!

One of the fun, most popular and much loved Enrichment Program is back! The V'dezi tribe continues to grow! We had an increased registration this past school year and the students had a fun time learning and performing in Bollywood and Hip-hop styles! Despite being a non-audition program of many first time dancers, the students practiced hard and performed in the Fallon Rally!
And now, it's time to bring the dancer in you to explore various themes and styles! Dance is a full body workout that helps improve your physical fitness, emotional uplift and also mental exercise (oh yea! memorizing the steps and counts have been proven through studies to prevent Alzhemers in seniors too!) Now you can join the Fallon V'Dezi Bolly-Hiphop Dance class and experience a fun filled environment of learning various styles of dance (Bollywood, Hiphop, Indian Folk, Lyrical Hiphop, we got ya covered!) across multiple languages. Whether you are just beginning to explore your dance skills or an experienced dancer, we are sure everyone will enjoy these sessions alike and most importantly meet new students, make new friends, bond and stay connected through trying times! So what are you waiting for?
Fallon V'Dezi Dance is a student-led program, taught by Ayushman Deb, a senior at Dublin High and a four year Dublin High Varsity Hip-Hop member!

"We really like the program, the energy and song selections. Ayushman has a lot of patience to teach. He makes a great dance tutor."
"This is my son's first dance class. He really enjoys dancing with this group. It also helped to find out a hidden talent and interest in him."
"My daughter has been enjoying the class since day one. This class made her realize that she actually feels relaxed while learning new dance movements. I see so much difference in her confidence levels after joining the class."
