Art Honors for Fallon Students in Community Show
This past month, the Pleasanton Art League called for entries for the PALS Pals art show and competition for middle and high schoolers. Two of our students, Sneha Chidambaram and Jihoo (Catherine) Kim, are featured in the show which will be up online on the league's website from 5/1-5/31. Sneha won the “Merit Award” for her acrylic pour painting and Catherine, who is currently a student in the Advanced Visual Art class, was awarded "Best in Show" for her original artwork "Limited Colors", which she created in alcohol-based marker.
Please congratulate them both on this honor and check out all the amazing art from students at bay area middle and high schools at: https://www.pal-art.com/exhibits-events/

This week’s virtual assembly with Joe Beckman
On Wednesday, April 28th, we held a virtual assembly for all students in grades 6-8 throughout DUSD. We heard from Joe Beckman, a motivational speaker and human connector, who talked about the meaning of being a “Difference Maker.” He defined a “Difference Maker” as someone who makes a difference in the lives of others, through small acts that help another feel seen or heard. He also taught the importance of three phrases or mantras: “LOVE YOU,” “PUSH THROUGH,” and “JUST LOOK UP.” You can learn more about this by watching one of his videos here: 3 Phrases video. We encourage you to ask your child(ren) what they learned from the assembly today, if anything stood out to them, and how Joe’s presentation may have impacted and inspired them.
